: EE Times India, March 17, 2023 [4]
Microchip has combined its RT PolarFire FPGA with the development kit and interfaces for evaluating design concepts based on actual in-flight electrical and mechanical characteristics.
Finding 10x+ performance improvements in C++ with CodeQL – Part 2/2 on combining dynamic and static analysis for performance optimisation
Source
: Sean Heelan's Blog, March 1, 2023 [5]
Static and dynamic analysis can be combined to create tools that are more useful than those focused on either analysis approach alone. Continuous profiling can be used to rank the output of static analysis, while static analysis can provide further context and make results more actionable.
So you want to do robots, step 4: Profit?

A self-rotating, single-actuated UAV with extended sensor field of view for autonomous navigation
Source
: Science, March 15, 2023 [9]
PULSAR is a powered-flying ultra-underactuated LiDAR (light detection and ranging) sensing aerial robot that uses self-rotation to extend the sensor FoV without consuming extra power. It consumes 26.7% less power than the benchmarked quadrotor and can perform autonomous navigation in unknown environments and detect both static and dynamic obstacles in panoramic views without any external instruments. This could lead to increased perception capability, task efficiency, and flight safety.
A 2D-Lidar-Equipped unmanned robot-based approach for indoor human activity detection
Source
: MDPI, February 24, 2023 [10]
This paper proposes to use a 2D LIDAR mounted on top of a cleaning robot to monitor elderly people living alone. Through continuous movement, the robot can identify if a person is laying on the ground after falling, even after a certain period from the fall event. A convolutional long short-term memory (LSTM) neural network is trained to classify the processed measurements and identify if a fall event occurs or has occurred. Through simulations, the system can achieve an accuracy equal to 81.2% in fall detection and 99% in the detection of lying bodies.
